Hi! On August 3rd 2022 I went in to the recording studio and cut 11 tracks of performance poetry. Everything went well and the results should speak for themselves. Tracks include The Hatchet poems, Big Brother has been done again and some newer material such as The Road to 'Seshlehem', Hectic and my latest poem 'No Prisoners Taken'. Enjoy :)
Track List UWE 'Bristol Sessions' August 2022:
Let Battle Commence: 1st poem in the MC poetry collection from 2020. About the start of the show and its aims and objectives.
400 Years of The Hatchet Inn: Originally written in 2006 for the 400th birthday of The Hatchet Inn, celebrated over a weekend in that September when it was performed live twice and put on the wall!
The Power & The Struggle: A poem written in 2006 and only performed once at Acoustic Night at the same time. A very urban / Hawkwind inspired poem that is still one of my favorites.
Rock n Roll Baby: Written in 2006 and performed live at the 400 year celebrations introducing Martin Smarts band of the time 'ZED'. Does exactly what it says on the tin!
The Hatchet Nation State: Written and performed in 2006 for The Hatchet 400 year gig. Still on the wall near the back bar! A very mischievous political poem this.
The Road to ‘Seshlehem’: A fun poem about a night in with friends. Appears in the 'No Prisoners Taken' poetry book.
Hectic: A trap house / warning about drugs poem inspired by what has gone around me in the past. Written in 2019 for the MC poetry collection.
Green & White: A poem that is more serious than it first appears. Written in 2019 for the MC poetry collection.
End of the System: A serious poem about race, climate change and deforestation etc. Appears in 'The Gemini Files' as its last poem.
No Prisoners Taken: Taken from the book of the same name, a poem about freedom. Big Brother: Re Recorded and memorized this time round. Written way back in 2003!
